My friend got married last night.
I have a lot of things I want to say about this, most of which I won't say because its very personal. I will say, though, that we all breathed a big sigh of relief when they said their vows because there were a lot of bumps on this road to marriage, involving health problems and finances, but these two people decided they were in love and that they were going to do this thing, sickness and money be damned.
That's exactly the way to do it. If you know you're in love and aren't just running off your mouth, then you should just go do it. Don't fear sickness. That's all the more reason to treasure every day you have with that person.
No, I didn't cry, but I think I understand why people do.
That said, I still want to get eloped. My feeling is, if you want to get married, why wait or go into bankruptcy over it? (I may possibly settle for a wedding on a beach in Mexico.)
